The CREDiT project is funded through the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Ayrton Challenge Programme, under the initiative “Co-Designing Clean Energy for Rural Africa with Service Innovations and Digital Twins (UKRI-318)”. The Ayrton Challenge is a major international effort focused on accelerating clean energy access in developing countries, supporting innovative solutions that address both technological and socio-economic barriers to sustainable energy systems.

Through this support, CREDiT brings together cutting-edge research, practical implementation, and community engagement to deliver impact where it is most needed. The programme emphasises not only innovation, but also scalability and real-world application—aligning closely with CREDiT’s mission to create lasting, locally embedded energy solutions.
